Membership makes a difference. The Friends of the LSU Textile & Costume Museum is an educational non-profit organization established to support the LSU Textile & Costume Museum in its efforts in education, research, artifact conservation, and public service. Annual membership campaigns, fundraising, and volunteer activities provide such assistance, enabling the Museum to provide quality exhibitions and build its collections. Members enjoy newsletters and invitations to educational programs and special activities sponsored by the Museum.
Pledge Your Support
The goals of the LSU Textile & Costume Museum are to preserve and enhance its collections and develop a nationally-recognized research facility. To accomplish this, the museum must grow beyond its current size and space allocation. When you pledge your financial support, you can help us add a rare textile piece, purchase a designer garment, or reach our ultimate goal---new renovations!
New Exhibition Space Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (2021)
After first being delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and again by Hurricane Ida, the Friends of the LSU Textile & Costume Museum were finally able to officially cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening of the new museum exhibition space! On October 3rd, 2021, Board members were joined by The LSU Vice President for Agriculture and Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Luke Laborde, and LSU Textile, Apparel Design & Merchandising faculty members for a small ceremony before being given a tour of the opening exhibition “Trajé Maya Textile Artistry” by its curator Dr. Jenna Kuttruff. The Friends of the LSU Textile & Costume Museum are excited to finally be able to share this space with the public.
