Sweet Potato Commission, Marking 70th Year, Touts LSU Research
October 03, 2022
The Louisiana Sweet Potato Commission, celebrating its 70th year, is particularly proud of its work related to research through a partnership with the LSU AgCenter.
“The research that LSU does is used across the country and even across the world, so it’s very important to the sweet potato industry,” René Simon, director of the commission, said, noting that 45 percent of the funds the commission collects goes to the AgCenter.
Work at LSU serves to improve outcomes for Louisiana farmers, ensure food security for every person in our state, and establish the LSU AgCenter and Agricultural College as the leading providers of agricultural innovation and education for the nation.
