For more than four decades, PlantFest! has connected Louisiana gardeners with exceptional plants in the beautiful setting of LSU Hilltop Arboretum.This year's event celebrates the legacy of Emory Smith, who created the original Hilltop landscape and later donated the property to LSU.
PlantFest! will introduce the Emory Smith Legacy Collection, featuring many of the
plants Emory loved and incorporated into Hilltop's landscape. Throughout the nursery,
look for the Emory Smith Legacy Plant seal highlighting these plants and their connection
to Hilltop's history.
Discover more than 3,000 plants representing over 300 species of native and traditional trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, ferns, succulents, and grasses. Whether you're creating wildlife habitat, enhancing an established landscape, or searching for something unique, Hilltop's knowledgeable Hodge Podge volunteer Plant Experts will be available throughout the sale to help you find the right plants for your garden.

by June Gonce, a longtime Hilltop neighbor and friend of Emory Smith.- June's botanical illustrations appeared in Hilltop: My Story, making this year's shirt a fitting tribute to Hilltop's history and the people who helped shape it.
