Service Policy 

To consult the collections for research purposes, please arrange an appointment.  The herbarium provides bench and cabinet space, as well as access to scopes and computers, for visiting researchers during their time of study.

As part of our mission to educate, herbarium staff provide scheduled 1-hour tours for LSU classes, grade schools, and private groups.

We strive to provide online resources to help with your plant identifications.  If you are unable to reach a positive identification, we may be able to assist or point you in the right direction.  Note that clear digital images or material brought into the herbarium will have a higher chance of a positive identification if it contains habitat information and reproductive structures.
