The LSU Integrative Community Studies Program (ICS) is a two-year certificate program designed to provide individuals with intellectual disabilities with a life-changing university experience. Our primary goal is to prepare students for independent living, provide competitive employment competencies, and build interpersonal communication skills.
The Program consists of four semesters of specially designed coursework. Individuals selected for admission will be housed on LSU's campus. This program is administered through the Special Education Program in the School of Education housed in the College of Human Sciences & Education.
Program Benefits

Program Completion Certificate
Students will receive an official Certificate of Completion from LSU. In addition, ICS students will complete an electronic portfolio that includes a cover letter, resume, letters of recommendation, skills checklist ratings, and employment experience. Their portfolio serves as a comprehensive overview of the student’s full employment potential.
